Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student: - is able to plan and coordinate research in the social - acquires practical knowledge in certain areas of the specific professional degree program, as well as their decision-making and operating, also in connection with regulations and to ethics of the business branch. - Develops communicative skills - it is able to relate in a professional environment and to work in interdisciplinary contexts as a team; - is aware of professional opportunities

Course contents

The curricular internship consists of 250 hours and can be carried out either at an external organization (with a formal agreement) or within the University.

What to do at the end of the internship

Once you’ve completed your internship, you must:

  • Write a final report, using the template available on the dedicated page of the degree program website.

  • Fill in the attendance log, available on the internship platform, indicating the hours and activities carried out. The log must be signed by the external tutor and bear the stamp of the host organization.

  • Upload both the final report and the attendance log to the internship platform.

The host organization tutor must also:

  • Complete the evaluation questionnaire (available on the platform).

  • Send the final evaluation form to the academic tutor, Prof. Piergiorgio Degli Esposti.

Once all documents have been reviewed, you’ll be able to register for the internship exam session via Almaesami, in order to receive your final grade (pass/fail).
Your presence is mandatory on the day of the grade registration, either in person or via Microsoft Teams.

How to carry out the internship

There are three options:

  1. Internship at an external organization
    You can choose from a list of approved institutions available on the university’s internship portal, or you can suggest a new organization (subject to the formal agreement process).

  2. Internship within the University (internal internship)
    You can carry out your internship within the Department of Sociology and Business Law by contacting a professor available to supervise you, and agreeing together on objectives and tasks.

  3. Recognition of work experience
    If you are already employed, you may request that your current job be recognized as an internship, provided it is relevant to your degree program. In this case, a formal request is required, along with approval by the Degree Program Board.

Readings/Bibliography

  • No textbooks or preparatory readings are required for the internship.

  • However, completing the mandatory safety training is a prerequisite. You must complete the online safety modulesprovided by the University before starting any internship activity.

  • Teaching methods

    The internship consists of 250 hours, is worth 10 ECTS credits, and takes place at the host organization’s location.

    Recognition of Work Experience

    If you are currently employed in a position related to your field of study, you may request to have your work recognized as a curricular internship.
    The procedure is as follows:

    1. Contact Prof. Piergiorgio Degli Esposti for an initial evaluation.

    2. Submit the following documents to the Student Administration Office (templates are available on the degree program website):

      • Request form for recognition of credits for extra-university activities

      • Certificate from the employer confirming the activities carried out

      • A descriptive report of the tasks performed

    Your request will be evaluated by the Degree Program Board, in coordination with the Internship Committee.


    Assessment methods

    How to Obtain Credit and Pass the Internship

    To complete the internship and receive the ECTS credits, students must:

    1. Upload the following documents to the internship platform:

      • The attendance log, fully completed and signed by the external tutor;

      • A final report describing the internship activities, signed by both the student and the external tutor, using the template available in the "Internship" section of the degree program website.

    2. Register for the first available exam session on Almaesami under
      Prof. Piergiorgio Degli Esposti – Internship (Soc).

    3. Be present at the exam session for the registration of the internship grade (Pass/Idoneità),
      either in person or via Microsoft Teams.
