Learning outcomes
The course will deepen the knowledge on the positive effects of physical activity on a cognitive and psychological level. In particular, it will examine how the various types of physical activities can enhance cognitive abilities such as, for example, attention, reasoning and motor anticipation, in the various stages of life, from childhood to adulthood and old age. Furthermore, the effects of physical activity on psychological well-being circuits will be studied.
Course contents
Theoretical and methodological introduction
Effects of physical activity on cognitive aspects:
attention
motor anticipation,
executive functions
reasoning and decision making
Effects of physical activity on psychological aspects: depression, anxiety, wellness and stress
Effects of physical activity in the life cycle:
Cognitive effects of sport on both the healthy elderly and people with degenerative diseases
