Learning outcomes

At the end of the Internship the student acquires specific competences related to the integration in a productive, business or institutional reality, concretely experimenting the formalities of organization of the job of it. It acquires besides tied up specific competences to the sector of the society or institution near which it develops the internship.

Course contents

Internships consist of a work experience that can be carried out at organizations, companies, and other international partners (including international partner universities which offer job placement projects). International Partners regularly publish their offers in a special database that can be consulted by students. The procedure for activating an internship is described in detail on the course pages. Please read the instructions carefully.

The curricular internship is an activity of your study plan that allows you to achieve practical skills and university credits (cfu) according to the study plan of your course of study.

The internship abroad can be carried out by applying to the Erasmus+ mobility for traineeship [https://www.unibo.it/en/study/international-experiences/internship-abroad/erasmus-mobility-for-traineeship/erasmus-mobility-for-traineeship] exchange programme

It may also be carried out by selecting a host institution abroad and following the procedure described at the website of your course of study, at Studying/Internship page, and accessing SOL-Internship [https://studenti.unibo.it/sol/welcome.htm] platform.


There is also the possibility of carrying out an internship experience abroad in the framework of the ‘Erasmus+ Mobility for Traineeship’ programme which has its own different procedure and a specific call for which you can see the University web-page, (see the same page for other opportunities for a vocational training period abroad):

No reading is required, besides the activities required by the Internship.

Teaching methods

Internship is a work experience where methodologies to acquire and consolidate specific competences and skills are individually agreed for each student between the student, the host institution and the university tutor and are formalized in the internship program also called ‘Learning agreement for Traineeship’ within the Erasmus+ programme (see details in the web pages indicated above)

To be agreed on a case-by-case basis according to the internship experience planned.

As concerns the teaching methods of this course unit, all students must attend Module 1, 2 [https://www.unibo.it/en/services-and-opportunities/health-and-assistance/health-and-safety/online-course-on-health-and-safety-in-study-and-internship-areas] on Health and Safety online, required by Host Institutions for insurance reasons.

Assessment methods

Assessment of the Internship experience (and the thershold for the pass/non pass finale grade) is fixed individually in the internship program. The host institution will certify the activities carried out and complete an online survey questionnaire. Students are also required to complete a final questionnaire and briefly summarize the results of the experience to the responsible teacher according to what is contained in the instructions on the applicativ.

At the end of the internship, your academic tutor will evaluate the activity. With positive evaluation, the teaching activity will be registered in your career as ID.

In case of an internship abroad in the frame of an Erasmus+ mobility for traineeship programme, the teaching activity will be registered in your career as ID.

Students with SLD or temporary or permanent disabilities. It is necessary to contact the relevant University office (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/en ) with ample time in advance: the office will propose some adjustments, which must in any case be submitted 15 days in advance to the lecturer, who will assess the appropriateness of these in relation to the teaching objectives.
