Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student has the knowledge and ability to understand the instrumental methods of pregnancy control and fetal well-being.

Course contents

  • Basic principles of ultrasound
  • Ultrasound equipment: type, method of use, adjustment of the equipment, sound and characteristics, the phenomenon of echo.
  • Approach to the patient.
  • Eco office and the role of the midwife: competence, responsibility and autonomy in the practice of the Ultrasound Office in pregnancy
  • Legislation with reference to the "eco office".
  • Ultrasound in the first trimester: visualize the gestational sac, the embryo, the number and activity of the heart, the date of pregnancy.
  • Ultrasound in the second and third trimester of pregnancy: Evaluation of amniotic fluid, evaluation of the placenta, location and characteristics
  • Ultrasound in twin pregnancy
  • Ultrasound in the delivery room
