Learning outcomes

At the end of the lessons, the student will know the regulatory framework of labour law and employment relationships, social security, as well as equal opportunities.

 

Course contents

At the end of the lessons, the student will know the regulatory framework of labour law, with specific regard to the regulatory principles of the employment relationship. Specific importance will be assigned to the legislation concerning the protection of the health and safety at work.

Employment relationship

Sources and principles of labour law.

Rights and obligations of the employees and employer’s power (directive, control and disciplinary) and obligations.

The legislation on health and safety at work.

Introduction and general principles.

D. lgs. n. 81/2008 and the principles of prevention: scope of the application, subjects, bodies, organizational structures for the prevention of occupational risks.

The notion of occupational risk. The so-called new and emerging risks. The principle of prevention in the protection of health and safety at work.

The protection of the mental health, personality and dignity of the worker.

The protection of gender differences and the subjective characteristics of the worker in risk assessment.

For the preparation of the exam, it is recommended the latest edition of the texts indicated below:

Teaching methods

The course is structured in classroom lectures, during which the topics will be systematically exposed according to the above program, with the help of slides and readings, and in discussion sessions on course contents to foster involvement and active participation of attending students.

Assessment methods

The lessons will be held in the first semester. Therefore, those who obtain the certificate of attendance will be able to take the exam starting from February.
The exam consists of a test on the topics covered by the program, aimed at evaluating the achievement of the expected learning outcomes.

Teaching tools

Students with disabilities and with Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) will be able to communicate their needs to teacher so that they can be addressed to the referents and take advantage of the necessary compensatory tools.
