Course contents

The Spanish 2 course is divided into two sections: we list below the objectives, general contents and bibliography of each.

Spanish language

The course aims to develop students' language skills in order to consolidate the B1 level and reach the B2 level required by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), published by the Council of Europe in 2001 (in 2002 for Spanish translation). Below are the descriptors of the global scale of communicative competences:

In order to achieve the above-mentioned linguistic objectives, the lessons will focus on morphosyntax related to the use of the indicative, subjunctive and conditional tenses, also in a contrastive key; particular attention will be paid to the vocabulary related to the areas of study characterising the course as well as to the (normative) orthographic changes introduced by the Ortografía de la lengua española (ASALE 2010).

Spanish Culture

The second part of the course will focus on topics related to Spanish and Latin American culture, history and politics through the reading and commentary of different documents (journalistic texts, short essays, literary pieces).
