93577 - Workshop on Textual Analysis (E)

Academic Year 2023/2024

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Primary Teacher Education (cod. 5711)

Course contents

LETTERS, SYLLABLES, ALPHABETS

The presentation of the course, theoretical framework and basic coordinates will constitute the first part of the first meeting; the requirements for writing the final paper will also be made explicit there. The second part of the first meeting and the entire second meeting, on the other hand, will be devoted to the conduct of the activities, which will always be presented through the reading of model texts and/or papers produced by the primary classes. These will be mainly ludolinguistic activities that find in letters and syllables the fundamental basic unit. In such experiments, depending on the activities, students will work individually or in small groups on the teacher's instructions. All exercises and activities carried out in class during the workshop may be read and shared aloud, on a voluntary basis and in order to stimulate discussion and implement exchange, as well as to provide a practical and concrete exemplification for conducting similar activities at school.

Readings/Bibliography

The bibliography will be provided during the workshop and will cover both the theoretical framework and the proposed stimulus texts.

Teaching methods

The workshop will be conducted by referring to a series of slides, both for the theoretical part and for the presentation of the activities; the exercises will be carried out almost entirely in writing; the choice of medium (paper or digital) is left to the free initiative of the students.

Assessment methods

The final paper is due by Saturday, 14/10/2023.

For evaluation purposes, in addition to attention and participation in class, the following will be considered:
- the ability to make connections or insights with theoretical references and previously acquired knowledge;

- the reworking of content and stimuli received;

- the ability to expound clearly and correctly;

- the spelling, syntax and register used.

Teaching tools

The texts analyzed will be made available to students as well as the complete bibliography.

Given the workshop mode and the necessary reworking of the content presented, sharing of slides is not planned.
