Learning outcomes
The student knows the strategies, techniques, traditional and state-of-the-art tools and methods used in specialized translation tasks; s/he is able to apply them to the translation of technical and scientific texts from different genres and text types, from Italian into English, meeting specific translation briefs and respecting the communicative functions of the source texts; s/he knows the basic techniques required for information mining, drafting, editing and revising texts, including the overall quality evaluation of the translated text.
Course contents
Professional etiquette and management of a freelance translator.
Translation work from Italian into English in the economics & finance, marketing, and legal sectors.
Course duration: 40 hours

All material will be made available on the course's online platform VIRTUALE.
Students will also be required to download documents and to regularly check for updates.
Teaching methods
Lectures are all conducted with practical application examples and work for the students.
Assessment methods
Students will be assessed for their professional behavior (individual student produced documents must be submitted), and the final exam consisting in the translation of an article from Italian into English (max. 2 hours).
Teaching tools
All students must have MS TEAMS and ZOOM correctly installed with their Unibo credentials.
