Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the module, the student applies acquired knowledge related to technical, interpersonal and educational skills. Develops methodological skills related to care planning. The activity is developed in preparation for the internship experience.
Course contents
The Professionalizing Workshop 1 program is developed into basic macro areas that, in turn, are divided into modules.
The areas and modules are aimed at the acquisition of technical and gestural skills that represent the practical application of knowledge learned during theoretical classes.
Module A: Basic assistance/elimination
Modules: Mobilization I (positions, bed-pram, hemiplegic patient), nutrition (water testing, entaral nutrition, SNG management), hygiene (total body, oral cavity, genito-perinal), dressings I (wound assessment, simple dressings)
Modules: Urinary elimination (bladder catheterization, incontinence care, specimen collection), fecal elimination (microclism, evacuation enema, rectal inspection, specimen collection)
Module B: Assessment and intake
Modules: Vital parameters (Temperature, BP, HR, FR, SpO2, ECG) and administration of O2 therapy; applied nursing semeiotics (interview, inspection), objective examination (palpation, auscultation, percussion), transcription of data into clinical records
Relational Laboratory
Primary health care: skilled listening
Module C: Therapy Management
Modules: Pharmaceutical forms (oral, topical, inhaled, etc.), infusion therapy (syringe drug aspiration, infusion, IM injection, SC), vascular access (infusion set preparation, blood draw, CVP placement).

Lectures will take place within the Graduate Course Laboratory.
The teaching modality consists of the student's practical simulation of up-to-date procedures in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice standards.
Students will be assisted by experienced nurses and teaching coordinators during the execution of the activities; the activities will be preceded by briefing moments and concluded with debriefing moments in order to focus the student's attention on the general principles of the procedures.
"In view of the types of activities and teaching methods adopted, the attendance of this training activity requires the performance of all students of Modules 1 and 2 in e-learning mode [https://www.unibo.it/it/servizi-e-opportunita/salute-e-assistenza/salute-e-sicurezza/sicurezza-e-salute-nei-luoghi-di-studio-e-tirocinio] and participation in Module 3 of specific training on safety and health in the workplace.
Assessment methods
The exam will focus on practical simulation of two procedures and description of materials used. Preceding the simulation will be an online self-assessment test that the student must take the day before the practical test.
