Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student possesses knowledge, to the extent of his/her competence, relating to healthcare activities in the field of physiopathology and medical semeiotics of adult and geriatrics.

Course contents

Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract:

- General semeiotic
- Acute abdominal pain
- diarrhea
- intestinal obstruction
- appendicitis
- diverticulosis and diverticulitis
- Acute enteric bleeding (enterorrhagia, melena, hematemesis)
- chronic inflammatory intestinal diseases
- esophagitis and gastritis

Diseases of the hepatobiliary-pancreatic tract:

- jaundice and ascites
- acute and chronic liver failure
- cholecystitis and biliary cholangitis
- acute and chronic pancreatitis

Hematological disorders

- anemia

Endocrinological diseases

- thyroid diseases
- diabetes
- hyperglycemic crises
- ketoacidotic coma

Water, electrolytes, edema and effusions
