Teaching methods

The course is divided into lectures and practical exercises in the classroom, individually and in small groups, having as their object the interrogation of the main databases in the field of nursing and midwifery sciences. Students will be encouraged to actively participate and plan the most effective bibliographic research strategy.

Assessment methods

At the end of the course, students are invited to write, in small groups, a written paper which must be sent via email to the teacher at least 15 days before the exam date. The paper consists of carrying out a bibliographic research on one of the research questions provided by the teacher according to a specific format.
The objective of the test is to evaluate the ability to formulate a PICO, query the main databases in the field of nursing and midwifery sciences, select sources and find scientific information of disciplinary interest. In particular, the technical-practical skills for accessing bibliographic sources and reviewing the literature will be assessed.
The vote will be defined as follows:
• 30 cum laude, excellent implementation of the bibliographic research, complete with all the required parts, in compliance with the delivery times.
• from 24 to 30, complete completion of the bibliographic research, respecting the delivery times.
• from 18 to 23, sufficient completion of the bibliographic research.
The integrated exam is considered passed if the student achieves a final grade equal to or higher than 18 also in the remaining modules.
The test will be carried out according to the indications contained in the University regulations (which you are invited to consult) and according to any other indications provided from time to time by the academic bodies.
