Learning outcomes

1.Knowledge of the main pathophysiological and/or iatrogenic conditions that can modify the pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic profile of the drugs being treated 2. Guided application of this knowledge in order to set the most appropriate management in the choice of drugs and/or dosages of the drugs drugs in various clinical situations 3. Independent evaluation for the most appropriate choice of drugs and/or drug dosages in various clinical situations 4. Ability to transmit one's knowledge 5. Ability to learn and apply new acquisitions in the field of Clinical Pharmacology

Course contents

The course is divided into several main topics: the role of the clinical pharmacologist in personalizing the therapy of the hospitalized patient at different stages of life; the "clinical pharmacological advice" and role of the clinical pharmacologist within the multidisciplinary team dedicated to the personalization of antimicrobial therapy at different stages of life; management and personalization of pharmacological therapy in newborns; management and personalization of drug therapy in children; management and personalization of drug therapy in adults and pregnant women; management and personalization of pharmacological therapy in elderly patients; sources of interindividual variability in drug exposure at different ages of life.

The teaching material and specific bibliographic reference articles will be provided in class. Teaching methods

Frontal and interactive lessons through the presentation and discussion of clinical cases taken from daily healthcare activities and literature.

Assessment methods

The verification and evaluation of learning will be carried out through a multiple choice written test. Alternatively, the student can opt for an oral discussion of the topics covered during the course. The final grade will be a judgment of suitability.

Teaching tools

The reference teaching material will be presented during the lesson and made available on the university electronic platform.
