Becoming acquainted with the spoken Arabic, and culture specific topics and concepts. Focusing on possible fields for intercultural negotiation, while keeping intact culture specificities and differences
Course contents
This course addresses the basics of language and culture, in details for:
-Written Language: the alphabet, morphology of nouns and adjectives; the basics of syntax; regular verbs conjugation
-Spoken Language: introduction to the Levantine variety- question words, expressing time and place, pseudoverbs, high frequency lexicon.
-Chunks, collocations, and formulae: simple collocations and chunks, considered useful for the diplomatic-administrative sphere; isolated lexicon and elementary but culturally significant formulae will be presented.At this stage, students are invited to simply memorize some of these chunks-collocations-formulae according to their own choice

Teaching methods
