Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student knows the role of the Dietitian.
The student is able to:
-calculate nutritional needs
-use qualitative and quantitative techniques to investigate the nutritional habits
-apply the Nutritional Care Process method on the basis of evidence based nutrition
It will also learn the food hygiene and the food safety aspects.
He will be able to propose and develop education projects

Course contents

How to do the nutritional assessment to estimate the nutritional habits and energy needs considering the guidelines
Portions evaluation using LARN 2014 and photographic atlas as references
Reading of the bromatological composition tables of foods and nutritional labels
Introduction to the use of the Nutritional Care Process
Setting up a nutritional scheme-diet for healthy people based on guidelines considering Childhood, Adolescence, Pregnancy, Menopause, Oldness
