Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student knows the developmental stages and theories of reference of the child's perceptual, physical and motor, cognitive and linguistic development.

Course contents

The course illustrates the development of motor, perceptual, cognitive, and communicative-linguistic competences, focusing on the changes occurring during pre-and post-natal, infancy, preschool and school age. The course explains the factors contributing to these changes and the processes underlying them, by referring to the main theoretical models.

References for preparing the exam will be given by the professor during the course and uploaded on VIRTUALE.

Teaching methods

Teaching is conducted through lectures, alternated with moments of reflection and discussion with students about the topics presented in class and case studies.

Assessment methods

The exam consists of an test consisting of 20 multiple choices questions and 1  open questions on the topics covered in the course.The examination aims to assess the organic knowledge of the subjects exposed in the texts and during the lessons and the precise knowledge of the specific terminology. The final score will be max 30 out of 30.

Teaching tools

Lessons will be accompanied by the use of slides and videos.
