91297 - Applied Measurements for Power Systems M

Academic Year 2023/2024

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Electrical Energy Engineering (cod. 9066)

Learning outcomes

The course provides the background of the theory of signals, of the measurement uncertainty arising in instrumentation as well as of the basic architecture of electronic measurement instrumentation used in electric power systems. At the end of the course students are able to evaluate the measurement uncertainty propagating through the measurement algorithms in complex measurement systems and to express it according to the method proposed by the new GUM. Moreover, they are also able to analyze input signals from the field by means of time and frequency domain analysis theories. They are also able to perform response analysis of Linear Time Invariant systems for diagnostic and characterization of systems and components.

Course contents

  • Metrolofy-fundamentals
  • Probability and statistics
  • Analysis of signals in time domain
  • Analysis of signals in frequency domain
  • Signal conditioning circuits: the use of Operational Amplifier
