Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student: - will know the main authors and psychopathological theories of development; - will be aware of the main parental issues and the most important dysfunctional forms of parenting; - will be familiar with the main clinical pictures that can be manifested in the first and second childhood, their relational matrix, their possible expression in institutional contexts; - will be familiar with the main psychodynamic-inspired observational techniques in the contexts of early and middle childhood; - is familiar with the main psychodynamic-inspired observation techniques for understanding the interactive dynamics of early and middle childhood institutions.

Course contents

1. Theoretical framework: Psychodynamics of the Develppment - Infant Research - Developmental Psychopathology- Attachment theory
2. Emotional development in childhood: Emotional Intelligence models between clinical and research
3. Observation methods and evaluation tools in developmental psychopathology
4. Diagnostic classification of disorders in childhood: Sleep disorders, regulation, attachment and mood disorders
5. Psychosomatic disorders in childhood
6.Graphic techniques at school: the technique of drawn stories and the drawing of the class in educational contexts.

Assessment methods

The exam will take place in written mode through a test with 3 open questions. The time available to the student will be 60 minutes.

The vote will be given by the sum of the scores awarded to each question, which can receive a score from 0 to 10, according to:

- no answer or totally incorrect answer: score 0

- an incomplete and/or largely incorrect answer: 1-3

- sufficient but non-exhaustive response: 4-5

- almost exhaustive answer, ability to argue, mastery of terminology: 6-7

- comprehensive response on topics, critical analysis, mastery of specific terminology, argumentation skills and linkage: 8-10.

The test is passed with a minimum score of 18/30.
