39374 - Radiotherapy Equipment

Academic Year 2023/2024

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Imaging and Radiotherapy techniques (cod. 9079)

Learning outcomes

The student acquires the founding principles of radiotherapy equipment (Linac, Cobalt therapy, Roentgenterarapia) and Radiation protection. He knows the use of ionizing radiation in radiotherapy, LINAC and other external radiotherapy and brachytherapy equipment, patient positioning and verification systems, analysis of positioning errors, quality controls, two-dimensional dosimetric tests. He knows the main instruments for measuring the dose in radiotherapy.
