Course contents

General ocular pharmacology (topical administration, absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination)
New ways of administering drugs at the ocular level.

Outline of classical ophthalmic drug therapy of glaucomatous and retinal pathology.

New drug therapies for (anti-VEGF, Rho-kinase inhibitors, Ocular gene delivery therapy, A3 agonists and drugs that act on adenosine receptors, drugs that act on cannabinoid receptors)


The teaching material provided on the IOL platform (publications provided by the teacher and lesson slides) are essential for exam preparation.

Teaching methods

Frontal lessons.
To facilitate the student in following the lesson, the teaching material presented in class is made available to the student in electronic format through the IOL institutional platform before the lesson

The final evaluation also takes into consideration the level of critical analysis of the information achieved by the student.
