Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student knows the main lines of historical development of sport and culture produced, by the sport in different ages and social contexts.
Course contents
The course will focus on the origin and the development of modern sport in Europe. A special attention will be dedicated on its cultural, social and political implications and to its process of internationalisation (Ioc, international federations and mega-events).

Assessment methods
Although class participation will be taken into account, as final assesment it will be required a paper related to a topic discussed in class in agreement with the professor.
