Academic Year 2017/2018

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Exercise and Sport Sciences (cod. 8512)

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to know the different types of games and the main models and educational methods that affect the play as a pedagogical and didactic device, both in school and extraschool; to acquire adequate knowledge of the educational values of sport, its cultural and educational models, and how to use the sport activities with children and adolescents through ways and pedagogically correct relations.

Course contents

The course aims to provide the basic knowledge about cultural and educational models that relate the many expressions of game and sports, seen as educational experiences. The play/game and sport, in their relationships and in their specificities, will be analyzed both as a spontaneous and natural activity, as well as a pedagogical device in the school and in the extraschool. Starting from the play as human activity in its natural and cultural aspects, we will try to define the identity of play/game in childhood, and its changes, starting from the main contributions of the scientific literature. The sport will be analyzed as evolution of the human game, that defines also cultural identity and pedagogical setting.
