Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student knows: pathophysiology, epidemiology, clinical course, investigation techniques and therapeutic approach of  esophageal, gastric, intestinal, colonic, hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases.

Course contents

The course is subdivided in two subsequent phases, each of them performed by two different teachers, that regard:

epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinicalcourse, diagnostic workup of easphageal, gastric, intestinal and colonic diseases;

epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinicalcourse, diagnostic workup of hepatobliary and pancreatic diseases.

Readings/Bibliography

A textbook written by the Italian Association of Teachers of Gastroenterology in addition to the available slide set.

Teaching methods

The course is characterized by 3 CFU of lectures.

Assessment methods

Examination at the end of the course is aimed at evaluating the reaching of teaching objectives, in particular the knowledge on epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic workup and therapeutic strategies for gastrointestinal diseases.

The final vote derives from an oral examination peformed by all the involved teachers.

Teaching tools

The teaching material is represented by a set of slides that remain in the availability of the student. On demand, reviews articles about the main topics are available.
