Learning outcomes

To provide the students with the fundamental laws of introductory physics and the basic principles in the analysis of experimental data.

Course contents

The Coulomb law; the electric field and electric potential; the capacitor; electric currents; the magnetic field and magnetic forces; electromagnetic waves; geometrical optics (the laws of reflection and refraction); physical optics (interference and diffraction); radioactivity; laboratory sessions and analysis of experimental data (measure of the wavelength of visible light; measure of the absorption coefficient to gamma rays of a metal)
