B5998 - Diversità e inclusione nella cultura inglese dell'Otto e Novecento - Modulo 1

Academic Year 2023/2024

Learning outcomes

Students will acquire knowledge of the cultural, historical, and literary contexts of the period under consideration, the ability to reflect critically on their own teaching practice, and the ability to develop materials, teaching units and strategies for teaching the literature and culture of the English-speaking countries in the secondary school.

Course contents

The course is based on the integration between the theoretical-methodological aspect and its practical application. The in-depth study of crucial aspects of the English cultural, historical, and literary contexts of the period between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries will be accompanied by the development of strategies and materials for the teaching of the English literatures and cultures in secondary schools. Special attention will be paid to the different literary genres, to the thematic modules and to the comparative and interdisciplinary analysis of the relationship between the literary text and its context.
