Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student has gained the skills concerning the theoretical and technical aspects of visualization of three-dimensional digital models in real-time.
Course contents
During the course the different types of visualization in real-time and their applications for project presentation will be exposed.
Students will learn how to manage the various phases of model preparation in a real time rendering environment:
- importing NURBS and mesh models;
- database management;
- application and modification of materials;
- lighting management;
- animation of parts;
- interaction with the scene.

Teaching methods
The course is organized in frontal lessons on theoretical aspects and practical communications on the use the used software, in a series of group exercises.
Only students who have attended at least 70% of the lessons and have carried out the exercises will be able to take the profit exam.
In the case of laboratory activities, it is good to remember the importance of appropriate behavior in the classroom, particularly to avoid possible injuries. In this sense, students are advised to conduct modules 1 and 2 in e-learning mode and to attend module 3 of specific training on safety and health in the workplace. Directions on dates and mode of attendance of module 3 can be found in the appropriate section of the course of study website.
Assessment methods
The final evaluation will be the result of a scrutiny. The judgement will be based on the results of the in itinere tests and group exercises carried out during the course.
Teaching tools
The course will use Autodesk Vred's computer lab and real time rendering software and other applications that will be shown in class from time to time.
Based on the evolution of the COVID-19, lessons may require the use of the Teams platform for both frontal lessons and revisions.
Official communications and teaching materials will be sent and made available through the platform https://virtuale.unibo.it/
