Learning outcomes

The course provides knowledge on the basic principles of nuclear medicine procedures (scintigraphy, SPECT, PET/CT) and radionuclide therapy.

Course contents

1. Basi nuclear medicine principles

2. Conventional imaging: scintigraphy (renal, myocardial, renal, bone, thyroid, parathyroid, lymphoscintigraphy, leukocyte, eritrocyte, lung)

3. PET/CT imaging: clinical applications of 18F-FDG PET/CT and non-FDG tracers

4. Principles of radiometabolic therapy and current clinical applications

Assessment methods

Oral discussion aimed at assessing both the knowledge of the basic concepts of nuclear medicine procedures and the degree of independence of the student in merging theoretical and practical concepts. Particular relevance will be attributed to the aquired skills of ameliorating the quality of the obtained images for the nuclear medicine physicians' reporting.
