Learning outcomes

Within the elective course will be analyzed congenital or acquired morphological abnormalities and bodily alterations of an aesthetic nature also caused by aging.
These problems can be present in all the bodily districts, they cause psychological suffering and are part of the somato-psychic dysmorphology.

Course contents

The principles and techniques of Plastic Surgery related to these problems will be presented.
With the "Eumorphic" Plastic Surgery techniques the aesthetic changes of the body are integrated harmoniously with mental health.

Through the presentation of clinical cases, the most common pathologies and interventions will be illustrated: rhinoplasty, matoplasty, abdominoplasty, facial trauma treatments and diseases linked to aging.

Diagnosis and classification of dysmorphosphates will be treated to establish the therapeutic strategy. The treatment of these diseases, the most serious of which is the dysmorphophobia, goes through the treatment of somatic dysmorphia, integrated with psychotherapy.

In the relationship called the doctor-patient relationship, space will be given to the concepts of patient expectation and satisfaction.
Legal medical aspects in Plastic Surgery will also be treated.
