Learning outcomes
This module describes the main elements and components of an electrical power systems, in particular of the subsystems relevant to the production, transmission, distribution and utilisation of electrical energy and the main principles relevant to its management with reference to the case of dispersed generation from renewable energy sources. At the end of their formative process concerning this module, students will acquire the knowledge of electrical distribution systems structure and functions, of the interactions between the power grid, its renewable power sources and the city infrastructures, the knowledge of the smart grid paradigm, and the requirements imposed by the development of smart mobility.
Course contents
The module provides the elements required to get the knowledge of
- structure/configuration
- operation
- principal components and devices of
of electrical power systems with particular reference to electrical plants at Low and Medium Voltage level and of their contextualization within the smart city paradigm.
