Lessons in the language lab will consist of reading and listening exercises; grammar exercises; vocabulary development; exercises in oral production (dialogue and monologue), as well as writing (summaries). Themes used in exercises in the language lab will be linked to those used in the course, Russian Language and Mediation III. Aside from reading and analyzing texts of Russian literature, work in the language lab includes exercises on grammar. Work on developing lexicons will draw on the language of political administration, culture, education, and the language of every day life in Russia. Particular attention will be paid to the development of listening, comprehending, and reformulating oral texts.
The language lab is an integral part of the course, and the subjects dealt with in the language lab will be used on the exam.
