Course contents

La literatura de viajes. El viaje de la literatura en la cultura Hispánica.

The course aims to contribute to the deepening of knowledge regarding Spanish language and culture, in different historical contexts. To this end, we will focus on the reading and analysis of texts centered on the theme of travel as a literary topic, or founding myth of writing.
Students should be able to analyze texts of different genres (poetry, fiction, nonfiction, drama), from different eras (from cartas y relaciones Columbus to contemporary travel narrative, through the current drama) and other countries (Spain, Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, Chile), always looking for the relationship between particular experience and the search for a voice born in unrooted identity.
