This module addresses the contemporary approaches of the theatrical and choreographic composition. This process can be investigated from several perspectives: the first is the concept of figure, as a declination of the role of actor; the second is the concept of presence on stage, related to the performer's body together with what is defined as objective presences - referring to those which are integral part of the stage in the form of sound, light and other technical stage mechanisms. A third perspective is represented by the role of the colours, this is a main aspect in the artistic and performing composition work; an accurate investigation of this perspective is considered of paramount importance for a complete understanding of the logic of view, a core issue of the modern aesthetic research. Through these perspectives the theatre can interact with the other forms of arts and artistic devices, like for example the visual arts and sound generator devices: these connections will be discussed and analysed within this module. Following the new trends the performance stage considered as a magnetic field where the dimensions of visible and invisible, audible and non-audible continuously interact and complement each other, will lead to the notion of atmospheric latency as unifying theory. On that basis it is necessary to focus on a specific dimension of the performance: seen as a structure composed by infinitesimal variations, integrated by technological media, influencing the performer and audience cognition as a subliminal force.
