Learning outcomes

The student acquires a good knowledge of mathematical and technical tools they use, and is able to set and solve problems and to assimilate new concepts from the experience and knowledge. Moreover the student is able process statistical data.

Course contents

Preliminaries. Sets. Real numbers. Functions and graphs, composable functions and
inverse functions



Analytic Geometry: lines and circles in the cartesian plane.
Matrices.First elements of matrix calculus.
Elementary Functions: Power functions . Logarithmic and exponential functions. The trigonometric functions.





Limits and Derivative. limit and relative theorems .Derivative of a function at a point and tangent line. Maxima and Minima.

Integrals. Definite integrals and their property. The integral mean value theorem.
full function. Torricelli-Barrow theorem. Evaluating areas bounded by the graphs of two functions.


First orderdifferential equations: lineary and separable variables differential equations.
