From traditional to innovative biotechnologies. Structure of nucleic acids. Genomes of livestock species. DNA polymorphisms. Recombinant DNA technology. Parentage testing and traceability. Genetic and physic maps, comparative mepping. Major genes and Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) with examples in farm animals. Detection of genetic diseases and gene variants. Bioinformatic.
