Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student:
- knows and understands main explicative theories in Organizational Psychology;
- knows and understands psychosocial processes underlying team functioning, according to Social psychology of groups and teams;
- s/he is able to define goals for psychologist's professional activity concerning: organizational processes and structures, team functioning, teams' resources and constraints.

Course contents

The course is split in two parts. The first one (roughly 2/3 of the whole course) will present the main areas of intervention of work and organizational psychology. All the most relevant topics will be covered, although briefly, from classic job and task analysis, to the practices and procedures for HRM. The second part (the remaining 1/3) will analyze the factors (personal and organizational) influencing well-being at work.

Readings/Bibliography

In both parts of the course the teacher will present and discuss complementary documents (scientific papers; scales; diagnostic tools) . In case of, such complementary documents will be made available for students at the institutional teacher's website. Such documents will be elegible for the final examination test.

Teaching methods

Lessons and guided discussions will be used. Examples of the most used tools and techniques will be presented. Filmed documents will serve as a basis for group discussions in the classroom.
Following Faculty norms, attendance is not mandatory. However, students are strongly encouraged to be present, especially if they plan to continue through the Master path “Psicologia delle Organizzazioni e dei Servizi”.

Assessment methods

The final examination will be a written test, that will be presented in a closed-, and open-answer questions (roughly 50% for each type). Examples are shown in my institutional website.
