Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will have a knowledge of the main environmental pollutants and main biochemical biomolecules of fisheries products also in connection with aquaculture.

Course contents

The different aquatic ecosystems. Molecular mechanisms of pollutants accumulation and detoxification in aquatic organisms. Structure and function of metallothionein. Main biochemical components of fish, molluscs and crustaceans.Fish myosins. Algal biotoxins.
