Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student knows the issues related to energy balance in an agricultural system and optimizing the processes of energy supply. In particular the student is able to afford some criteria to define the plant biomass management methods for energy purposes more suited to individual agricultural contexts.
Course contents
Energy sources and energy needs. Production of energy from biomass: characteristics, sources and type; the heating value, volatil matter content and ash content. The combustion process: thermo-chemical and bio-chemical process. anaerobic and aerobic fermantation. The combustion. La combustione. Principles of solar energy, wind energy and hydraulic energy.
