Learning outcomes

A good knowledge of latin is needed. The classes will concern the main periods in the evolution of latin, and its relationship with other languages of ancient Italy. Students will learn to translate epigraphic texts of ancient period, as well as to analyse morphology and language of classical latin.

The language of Roman religion.

Teaching methods

60 hours of classes. attendance is recommended.

Assessment methods

Oral examination dealing on the texts  and on the handbook, as well as the reading of an essay at one's choice. (see bibliography).

Teaching tools

Photocopies of Latin texts not printed in the books are given in the classes.
