Learning outcomes
At the end of the module students will have a basic knowledge of italian society history between the Nineteenth and the Twentieth Century and of the most important political, social, economical and cultural transformations since national unity to the second post-war period through the analysis of memories, autobiographies, diaries and photographic documents from private and public archives

Assessment methods
Oral exam. In addition to recommended readings a research of unpublished photographic documents from family photo album is request, according with the teacher, in collaboration with imaGo online Laboratorio di Ricerca Storica e di Documentazione Iconografica sulla Memoria del Quotidiano (http://imago.rimini.unibo.it) and with Archivio delle voci (www.archiviodellevoci.eu).
Students have to prove their knowledge of Twentieth Century History at least on the most relevant political, social and economic facts, as part of their studies prior to attending University. For this reason an entrance test is expected in the form of a written questionnaire to be undertaken by the students during the first days of lessons.
Those who do not submit or pass this written test, must prove their knowledge during subsequent oral exams.
If necessary for the preparation on Twentieth Century History the follow handbook is recomended P. Sorcinelli, D. Calanca, D. Pela, Storie , La Nuova Italia- RCS Scuola, Milano, 2003, vol. III, or any other Twentieth Century History handbook for high school students.
