17971 - Communications Systems L-A

Academic Year 2008/2009

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Cesena
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Telecommunications and Electronic Engineering (cod. 0649)

Learning outcomes

This class is the follow-up of  Electrical Communications L. The course intends providing the basic tools for the understanding of the fundamental principles governing digital communications systems. The focus will be on multiplexing and multiaccess techniques, digital modulation theory, error correction coding schemes, and optimum reception in linear channels. The course will be completed with the overview of two communication systems: the cellular UMTS system and the DVB-H sstem for digital video broadcasting to handheld devices.
