Learning outcomes

Aim of the course is to give basic knowledge about modern electronic instrumentation and some guidelines for the correct design of a (distrinbuted) measurement system .

Course contents

- Common sensor and interfacing issues
- Smart Sensors and IEEE 1451 standard
- Conditioning circuits: Diff-Amps, In-Amps, Insulation-Amps. Selection and circuit design considerations
- AD converters: Characteristics and interfacing issues
- Acquisition boards: structure, selection and use.
- Industrial Systems: PXI, CompactRIO
- LXI and distributed instrumentation
