Exchange students @unibo and info for partner universities: getting to know the University of Bologna

An overview of the key features that exchange students need to know in order to make the most of their mobility at the University of Bologna.

Multicampus: the University of Bologna has campuses located in five different cities in the region: Bologna, Cesena, Forlì, Ravenna and Rimini. According to the provisions of the Bilateral Agreements, students are assigned to one of the five Campuses.

Course catalogue: consult the list of course units run by the University of Bologna. The updated list of courses for the following academic year is available from June; prior to this date, students may refer to the list of courses from the previous year, which may however be subject to modification.

Language of instruction: most of the lectures are held in Italian but every year student have more opportunities of studying in the English. Consult the programme catalogue delivered in English (and in other languages) by using the filters in the list of the first cycle and single cycle degree programmessecond cycle degree programmes and in the course unit catalogue.

Italian language courses: the University of Bologna offers exchange students different types of Italian language courses which are also available online in self-study mode, before the start of the mobility. Students are strongly advised to have at least basic knowledge of the Italian language (level A2).

Teaching calendars: each Degree Programme has its own teaching calendar. Depending on the Degree Programme the semester start and end dates and the exam sessions may differ. Consult the calendars and timetables of each Degree Programme along with the information on the classrooms where the lectures are held.
