The CUG has several duties, such as making proposals, providing advice and monitoring progress on the development of an equal opportunities culture and the promotion of wellbeing and non-discrimination in the workplace.
The Committee makes use of the University’s services dedicated to promoting wellbeing in the workplace and works in collaboration with the University’s Confidential Counsellor, the Evaluation Group, the Protection and Prevention Service and with all those in the University involved in the areas covered by the CUG. It may also rely on the collaboration of the local Equal Opportunities Councillor, exchanging information and good practices, developing cooperation agreements, initiatives and joint projects in specific areas.
Duties
Propositional tasks
The CUG puts forward:
- positive action plans aimed at promoting equal treatment at work and a culture of equal opportunities;
- actions and projects aimed at promoting employee wellbeing, such as cognitive surveys and climate surveys designed to prevent and fight all forms of discrimination, psychological distress and mobbing.
Advisory tasks
The CUG gives non-binding opinions on:
- university reorganization projects
- staff training programmes
- flexible working arrangements and work-life balance
- staff evaluation criteria.
Monitoring tasks
The CUG monitors:
- the results of the positive actions
- assignments conferred (managerial and non-managerial)
- allowances and organisational positions
- forms of direct or indirect discrimination in the workplace.
The CUG prepares reports on its activitiesby 30 March every year.

The CUG is a joint body made up of Staff representatives and University representatives.
