Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to lead students to learn the indications for interventional radiology applied to the various areas of body pathology and to the knowledge of the different executive methodologies.
Course contents
- General notions relating to the use of imaging methods (conventional radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI, angiography) as a guide for interventional radiology
- General notions about invasive diagnostics (biopsies and venous sampling, measurements of hepatic pressures-HVPG), vascular interventional methods (angioplasty and stenting, embolizations, TIPS), oncological treatments (Radio frequency and intra-arterial procedures) and extravascular (abscess drainage, biliary and urological interventions)

The teaching material relating to the lessons held will be available, updated, on the AMS Campus - AlmaDL - University of Bologna website, with limited access to university students.
An in-depth study and completion of the program is recommended using the bibliographical references indicated during the lessons
Teaching methods
Frontal lessons with the help of Power-Point presentations.
The teaching of Interventional Radiology provides 12 hours of lectures.
Assessment methods
The verification is carried out by means of an oral test. The teacher expresses his / her assessment based on the skills shown by the student in the presentation in terms of knowledge and skills achieved, synthesis skills, critical skills.
The final vote of the course is expressed in thirtieths.
