Learning outcomes
The course wants to give the basic information about how to describe and model the pollutant dispersion in the environment.
Course contents
- Introduction to the problem of dispersion of pollutant, analysis of the physico-chemical processes which control and influence the dispersion of pollutants in the environment.
- Fundamentals about phase equilibria and transport processes and their importance in the modelling of pollution process
- Compartimental models for the analysis of environmental fate of different pollutants
- Pollutant dispersion in atmosphere: introduction to the parameters for the descirption of the atmosphere; description of simple model for the disperion in the atmosphere
- Pollutant dispersion in water: introduction to the analysis of pollutant dispersion in rivers and lakes.
- Pollutant dispersion in soil: analysis of the undeground water behaviour, of the interaction mong the soil and the pollutants and of their influence on the overall dispersion.
Teaching methods
lectures of the professor with the use of powerpoint presentations.
Assessment methods
The assessment is based on an oral examination where the student will be asked to answer question about the different topics presented during the course
Teaching tools
Slides and Powerpoint presented during the lessons will be available in the wesite of the course on "insegnamenti online" (https://iol.unibo.it/))
