Learning outcomes

A good knowledge of latin is needed. Classes will concern the main periods in the evolution of latin, and its relations with the other languages spoken in ancient Italy (greek, etruscan, umbrian). Students will learn to translate epigraphic texts of ancient period, and to analyse morphology and language of classical latin.

Course contents

Beginning 29-9--2015. Time table tuesday and thursday,  15-17; friday 9-11 (v. supra)..

Teaching methods

60 hours of classes for 12 CFU( 30 for 6 CFU).

Assessment methods

Oral examination dealing with translation and commentary of  the texts read in the classes; a general knowledge of the handbook is requested, as well as the reading af an essay at one's choice  in the bibliography.
