Course contents
The course consists of thematic modules related to different aspects of veterinary public health, held by teachers who deal with specific issues.
1) Emergency diseases and Public Health : Rift Valley Fever risk for Europe; • Simulation of introduction of FMD in Italian territories; • Peste des petits ruminants
2) Emerging and re-emerging zoonoses : Risk factors for zoonotic disease emergence ; Emerging zoonoses in Italy; Zoonoses Surveillance
3) Epidemiology and Veterinary Public Health : Veterinary epidemiology and Public Health; Social and economic cost of animal diseases; Observational studies and measure of association
4) Urban Veterinary Hygiene: Definition, actions, developments
and experiences; Guided tour to Venzia with the support of Dr
Piccoli whichs has developed the UVH strategies of the lagoon
city. In addition to ornithic nesting sites, will be visited the
official feline colonies, the fish market and the cattery.
