Learning outcomes

The acquisition and deepening of the issues concerning constitutional guarantees in the criminal justice system. The study of the general part of criminal law and especially of the sources, the general theory of crime and punishment, as well as the main criminal institutes. General characteristics of the special part of the criminal justice system and the study of the most significant criminal offenses analyzed in the recommended volumes

Course contents

In the course of criminal law is intended, first, to illustrate the nature and purposes of criminal law as well as the relationship between the criminal justice system and the Constitution. Specifically we will discuss: the sources of criminal law, the structure of the crime in its various elements; forms of manifestation; justifications and defences, and the disciplinary system. Will be analyzed in class the relationships between general and special part, as well as the main cases belonging to the latter.

Teaching methods

Teaching is carried out using traditional methods. During the lectures will examine some  cases, with particular attention to institutions and to the general part of criminal offenses

Assessment methods

The exam will take place only in oral form and will aim to test the knowledge acquired, but also the understanding of the topics and reasoning ability of the student.
Can only be taken after passing the exams of Constitutional Law and Private Law.

Teaching tools

The consultation of the code is recommended both during lessons both in the preparation of the exam.
