Learning outcomes

Course participants will be able to analyse major issues in school and community psychology and to increase skills in project development and interventions in community and school settings.

Course contents

Total 10 credits, 75h. 

The Laboratory is composed of 4 modules :

1 - METHODOLOGY AND QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS
statistical analysis using SPSS software. Teacher: dott. Carlo Tomasetto. 

2 - COMMUNITY INTERVENTIONS

Analysis of community needs and development community-based interventions. Special focus on community resilience and prejudice reduction.  Teacher: prof. Luca Pietrantoni. 

3 - PROFESSIONAL TOOLS
Tools for networking in a community with local stakeholders. Tools for psychological interventions in school and educational settings. 

4 - PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND DEONTOLOGY

Deontology in the psychological profession. Teacher: an external professional.

Teaching methods

Teaching methods will be lectures, in-class exercises,  case study, small group assignments, homeworks, assignments on scientific papers. Students are expected to come to class prepared and on time, ready to discuss and ask questions, and interested in learning.     
All students are expected to follow the ethical code  of the University of Bologna. http://www.normateneo.unibo.it/NormAteneo/codice_etico.htm .  Plagiarism (representation of another's work or ideas as one's own in academic submissions) is not acceptable. 
In addition, students are expected to treat each other, themselves and the course instructor and teaching assistant with respect and courtesy, including respecting diversity of all types.

Assessment methods

Attendance In-Class attendance is compulsory. Only 1 missed class for every module is allowed.   In-Class attendance will be measured with signature.  
Final exam The final exam will be possible only for students with in-class attendance.
