Learning outcomes

The Social Security Law course deals with the disciplines of Welfare, from assistance to social security. At the end of the course, the student is able to orientate critically on the legal issues that relate to the Welfare, that with regard to both the national legislation, both the European law.

Course contents

The program of study is as follows:
1. Origins and development of the Italian social security system.
2. The sources of the legal system of social security, starting with the Constitutional Charter.
3. The social security system.
4. The legal relationship, the subjects, the protected events.
5. Public welfare.
6. Healthcare and Constitution of the National Health Service.
7. The protection against accidents at work and occupational diseases.
8. Civil invalidity protection.
9. Maternity protection.
10. The unemployement insurance.
11. The protection against insolvency of the employer.
12. The supplementary pension system.
13. The social security for the freelancers.
14. The inspection programme.
15. Legal actions.

The study can be performed using one of the following texts:

Teaching methods

Lectures, with discussion of summarizing slides.

Assessment methods

Oral examination designed to test the level of student learning on the institutional knowledge and expertise acquired.

Teaching tools

The teacher will provide students summarizing slides and any specific study material on the website campus.unibo.it.
