Learning outcomes


Course contents

The seminar classes will provide an international discussion on topics concerning the legal regulation of media. The course will especially focus on issues such as freedom of expression, freedom of information, free circulation of audiovisual contents within the UE, entry into the communications market.

Teaching methods

The seminar entails weekly classes, which can also be attended online (by means of a specific chat program). Every week, different juridical issues will be addressed, and students will be provided with learning materials. Students will also have the opportunity to access an online forum where to discuss the subjects covered.

Assessment methods

Seminar activities must be included in the study plan, and qualifying tests must be undertaken by the end of the Academic Year during which the seminars took place. 
Students enrolled in the Laurea Magistrale course can only obtain credits in order to fulfil the conditions of 'debiti formativi' (max. 2 credits).
At the end of the seminars, students are expected to present a short written piece discussing themes previously addressed in the course. In order to obtain the course credits, attendance of at least two thirds of the classes is required.

Teaching tools

The seminar will take place in collaboration with the University of Hamburg (Hans-Bredow-Instituts für Medienforschung an der Universitaet Hamburg).  It entails weekly classes, which can also be attended online (by means of a specific chat program) connecting with the Professors and German students. Every week, different juridical issues will be addressed and students will be provided with learning materials. Students will also have the opportunity to access an online forum where to discuss the subjects covered.
